Englandsbaten (The England Ferry) as the Newcastle to Bergen route was known by closed at the end of the summer season in 2008. Following the rises in fuel costs and the competition from cheap airlines the route had been struggling for some time. The mv Queen of Scandinavia was sent for layup pending sale in Denmark. |
