 1981  During a scheduled voyage between Helsinki and Stockholm the ship encountered  heavy southwesterely seas south of Hanko. The next morning in Stockholm the bow  visor would not open, and severe damage was found including dented structure on  the port side and two broken locking bars on the centre line. The visor had lifted a  few centimetres and moved to starboard

 4th January 1998  Stage Two. Refurbished at Fredericia. Total price for the two stages 40mDKK
 3rd January 2000  Third and final stage lasting until 18th February 2000. Equipped with 1.5m wide  sponson tanks to meet the latest SOLAS regulations on stability and safety. At the  stern a duck tail was fitted in order to prevent changing the manoeuving  parameters. The conversion of the fore ship and bulb aimed to improve the ships  sea keeping characteristics in waves and reduce propulsion resistance. The project  involved cropping the large forwad part of the vessel and providing it with a new  shell, bow and bulwark structure. The work entailed considerable alterations to  most of the installations and compartments in the adjacent areas, including the  modified anchor, anchor winches and chain lockers, ventilation duct and piping in  the bow thruster compartment, heating units on deck 3, mooring equipment with  accesses and escaptes with ladders and hatches on deck 4. In total 850t of steel  was added
 19th February 2000  Re-entered service between Copenhagen and Oslo via Helsingborg
 26th June 2001  Final arrival in Copenhagen. Relieved by the mv Pearl of Scandinavia. Departed  same day for Amsterdam (Ijmuiden)
 28th June 2001  Entered service between Newcastle and Ijmuiden
 29th May 2007  Swapped routes with the mv Princess of Norway. Entered service on the Newcastle  to Bergen route
