International Ferry Terminal, Royal Quays, North Shields which is situated approximately 8 miles east of Newcastle City Centre and is signposted with the "International Ferry" symbol.
Driving:
From Newcastle City Centre:
Take the A1 towards Morpeth and then the A19 towards the Tyne Tunnel. On Approach to the tunnel, follow the International Ferry symbol onto the A187 towards North Shields.
Continue along this road to the roundabout, take the second exit to the International Ferry Terminal, Royal Quays.
From the North:
Head for the Tyne Tunnel via the A19, then follow the directions as above.
From the South:
Approach via the A19 towards the Tyne Tunnel. Once through the tunnel join the A187 and proceed as above.
Please Note: Drivers approaching from the South should allow extra time during the summer months when the tunnel can be extremely busy.
By Bus:
Newcastle Central Station is approximately 20 minute by Bus from the port. There are two Bus departures for each DFDS Seaways sailings. The first one leaves two and a half hours before the ship's departure and the second one leaves one hour and fifteen minutes before departure. The bus costs £4 per person (for a single journey) and the fare is paid to the driver.
